Petaluma Arts Center Seeks Exhibitions Installer
PAC is looking for an experienced installer to join our team as a contract employee. We present 6 shows/year, and each runs about 6 weeks. We always allow about 2 weeks between shows to give ourselves sufficient time to turn the gallery around. We do have one volunteer who helps with most of the patching and painting, though there may be a bit of that wrapped up in this installer role. We also have a volunteer who lights every show. Installation usually takes place in the 3 days before each opening, and openings have been on Thursday evenings (though that could change). Here is the current schedule:
June 9- July 23- Fiber Show
August 11- Sept. 24- Agri-CULTURED
Oct. 6- Nov.5- El Dia de los Muertos (likely no installer or minimal work needed)
Nov. 17- Jan.7- Members Show
There may be a slight bit of work involved in deinstalls, though usually artists just come pick up their work and it's pretty straight forward. It's not a huge space and we have two galleries:
G.K. HARDT GALLERY
The G.K. Hardt Gallery is the main exhibition/performance space for the Petaluma Arts Center, and its dimensions are approximately 53' x 37'
NORTH GALLERY
This is our smaller gallery space, often used as an extension of the exhibition in the larger gallery but not always. Its dimensions are 18' x 27'
We're planning on a maximum of 20 hours/show, and $20- $30/hr, depending on experience. We are looking for one person who can commit to a full year of exhibitions and this is a contract role.
